Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions
Supervision: 20%
  • Recruit, train, directly supervise, and evaluate the activities of two full-time lead analyst staff.
  • Directly supervise, support, and evaluate 1 part-time coordinator.
  • Contribute to and monitor the ongoing professional development of assigned staff.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with assigned staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of institutional and departmental policies and procedures related to staff supervision.
Finance: 60%
  • Provide oversight to finance staff handling the processing, reviewing, monitoring, and reconciliation of student account transactions, accounting transactions, and procurement transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and conformance to all relevant laws, governing regulations, and institutional and departmental policies.
  • Provide oversight to finance staff processing, reviewing, monitoring, and reconciling monthly expense trackers which includes facilitating department meetings, providing recommendations and resources, and proactively communicating concerns to supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, annual financial reports, and ad hoc financial projections/reports as needed.
  • Develop internal policies and procedures for the finance area. Ensuring effective communication to department staff regarding all university and department policy and procedure changes/updates.
  • Assist supervisor with development of annual operating budget.
  • Responsible for managing existing contracts and their terms. Will assist supervisor with executing new contracts.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining internal procedures, tools, and manuals to document operational practices.
Customer Service and Leadership Support: 20%
  • Respond to department and campus inquiries quickly and professionally, ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues efficiently and proactively communicate concerns with the supervisor.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff, providing necessary follow-up.
  • Proactively mitigate potential problem areas and work to find solutions to prevent delays in processes.
  • Assist with department-wide events and initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by internal and external stakeholders and department leadership.
  • Serve on departmental committee(s) as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus three years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal seven years.
