The Analytics & Reporting Analyst is a key member of Advancement's Analytics and Reporting teams. The Analyst works consultatively on projects utilizing data to aid strategic and tactical decisions, providing accurate, timely and comprehensive analysis and information. In addition, the Analyst will be an expert on Advancement data and aid the Reporting team on data requests. This position impacts the most significant aspect of Advancement operations - the management of the major gift pipeline and the teams that support this work. Designed to be an entry-level position, additional; duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop advanced knowledge of fundraising fundamentals and strategies, being able to synthesize projects and requests into deliverable products, presentations, or data lists.
- Provide service and information across the organization, working consultatively on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses that support Advancement's work in managing key performance indicators and measuring outcomes for our $3B fundraising campaign.
- Play a role in designing new features and functions that advance efforts to become a more data-informed organization in Georgetown's Salesforce CRM, GU360.
Work Interactions
The Analyst reports to the Director of Analytics & Business Intelligence. The Analyst will work on projects or assignments stemming from both the Analytics and the Reporting teams, and therefore receiving project work from more senior colleagues from each of those groups. Project work is both individual and collaborative. The Analyst will partner with Analytics and Reporting team members as well as colleagues on the larger Data Strategy & Operations team on matters such as campaign reporting, pipeline management, goals, forecasts, benchmarking, outreach lists, and giving summaries. The audience for the work is primarily any other team in Advancement. The Analyst may present, have meetings with, or interact with colleagues in completing work. Individual assignments will be reviewed by more senior colleagues on the team before being shared.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree in statistics/mathematics/computer science/analytics or equivalent field; Or, bachelors' degree with experience in a fundraising environment or a data/analytical setting
- Educational background with or practical experience using SQL
- Proven analytical skills/experience with Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and/or Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Slides
- Strong information presentation skills -- both in writing and in visuals (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

- Have a passion for data/analytics with a desire to gather, clean, evaluate, and synthesize various types of data
- A self-starter, ready to make an impact in a mission-driven environment
- Highly-organized, independent and motivated by achieving milestones
- Known for both their strength of communication and ability to adapt to meet the needs and expectations of managing relationships with executives, frontline staff, and everyone in-between
- Strong project management skills are required, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Demonstrable capability to work with diverse data features as tools to help make colleagues' work easier and more efficient
Preferred/Plus Qualifications
- Work experience in higher education fundraising or other fundraising organization
- Practical experience with the Salesforce platform
- Practical experience with Tableau, R, or Python
- Experience with the Fresh Service ticketing platform

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
