Position Description
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Develop and write annual impact reports tailored for donors that have named colleges, including Rawls College of Business, Whitacre College of Engineering, Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, and Huckabee College of Architecture, adhering to specified timelines.
  • Develop and write an annual university-wide impact report designed for a public audience.
  • Produce written copy for comprehensive campaign impact reports targeting specific donor and alumni audiences aligned with fundraising priorities and pillars.
  • Draft and compile impact reports for corporate and foundation donors.
  • Write philanthropic stories that spotlight generosity at Texas Tech University for dissemination through Texas Tech Now, Exposure, and social media platforms. Includes finding and interviewing sources.
  • Collaborate closely with Donor Relations & Stewardship and Corporate & Foundation Relations teams to gather information, adhere to timelines, and distribute impact reports.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging and tone across all written communication materials.
  • Assist with additional fundraising initiatives and projects as required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience writing for various audiences.
  • Comfortable working with others for collaborative projects.
  • Experience with creating written content for news publications, websites, or social media.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
Degree in journalism, communications, English, or similar field. Technical, persuasive, and/or Associated Press-style writing experience. Comfort with Adobe InDesign. Experience with a work management platform like Asana.
